Two of our Busselton local men played against Perth Glory on Saturday in a Southwest Rep team as another acted as assistent coach. It was a extremely entertaining game, played in Bunbury at Haypark Stadium with around 1500 spectators.

Youngster Ben Greaves has grown up through Busselton juniors and now plays for the Busselton Premier League team as a right back. Greaves played on the wing for the rep team and played outstanding soccer.

Irishmen Danny Kane also plays for the Busselton Premier team, he has done so for a few years now. Kane excelled himself in the midfield and when he nutmeg Glory legend Sterjoski showed how classy of a player he is. Kane looked to be one of the best players on the pitch and some commented he was Glory material.

Busseltons coach Andrew Cowley was assistant coach on the day and was proud of his men who got the chance to play. Cowley has coach the Busselton Men for 3 years now, he made history last season when he coached his team to a win without dropping a point all season. He has also coached the Busselton Premier League women to a winning season also. Cowley has been asked to assist in more Southwest Forum Force games.

The games result was 3-1 to Glory and is hoped they will return next year for another game.
