Men’s Premier League Top Four Cup Final – Busselton Vs Dynamos

ml-tfcf-aBusselton Premier League men have put another trophy in the cabinet after they topped off their season winning the Top Four Cup. Playing Dynamo's, who were second on the ladder, Busselton knew it wasn't going to be an easy game and with having many players out injured or away, coach Andy Cowley had to bring in the youthful reserves and play himself, whilst having 2 injured players, the Seia brothers, sitting on the bench just in case.

Busselton had the pleasures of playing with the wind in the first half of the game and having speedy Martin Ryan up front didn't help Dynamo's defence either. It took Busselton 40 minutes to find the break through and Ryan taking his opportunity with a one on one with the keeper, leaving Dynamo's frustrated. Both teams showed quality skills, but left it 1-nil to Busselton at half time.

Dynamo's headed out strong in the second half wanting to take advantage of the wind, and within 10 minutes scored the equaliser. A beautiful cross to an unmarked Gonzalo Valenciaga who slotted it past Busselton's keeper.

Busselton had to take note and adjust to the winds, led by Cowley in the backline had Dynamo's struggle with a breakthrough. Playing the ball around the pitch both teams fought hard and finally the winning goal came from a cross by Jamie Tandy to Ryan in the 80th minute to score the winning goal.

Dynamo's pushed hard to take back the goal and with seconds to go it looked as if they were going to achieve it but with excellent keeping by Busselton's Shane Russell Busselton were able to hang onto the win.

Cowley won the player of the game for the match from the referee's and was proud of the team who pulled together and worked well on the day. It was the fourth big trophy for the season. Charity Shield, Pioneer Cup, Top Four and the big one, the Premiership.
